Our Club

Welcome to Menai Hawks Football Club

Founded in 1979, Menai Hawks Football Club is the largest soccer club (indeed the largest sporting club of any code) within the 2234 postcode district with approximately 1,100 players (90 teams) donning the Hawks shirt each weekend throughout the winter season and around 1,250 players each week throughout the summer season. Girls especially are welcome – girls currently represent around 35% of our players but the numbers have been rapidly growing over the last few years

We are a not-for-profit grassroots community football club. Entirely run by an exceptional group of volunteers who put in hours and hours of unbelievable effort for the benefit of our members and our community. Please consider if you would like to volunteer yourself. Your skills and enthusiasm would be snapped up in a heartbeat!

We are affiliated to the 26-club Sutherland Shire Football Association and play all of our games exclusively within the Sutherland Shire. Home games are played at Buckle Reserve, Barnes Crescent, Menai and Casuarina Oval, Casuarina Road, Alfords Point. Away games are played all across the Shire. Juniors play on Saturdays and Seniors play on Sundays.

Our philosophy and aspiration at Menai Hawks is to find a place for everyone who wants to play our beautiful game both males and females. It doesn’t matter whether your surname is Messi or Kerr (check out our honour roll for our past glories) or if it is your very first time pulling on a football shirt, we will attempt to find you a place in a suitably graded team relative to your skill level and experience. From turning 4 to turning 74, male or female – you are very welcome at Menai Hawks.

Please come down to Buckle on any Saturday or Sunday daytime during the winter season (March – August) and see for yourself what we are all about!
