Summer Soccer - Code of Conduct

1. PLAYER’S CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Play the Game in the spirit intended
  • Play to the Rules;
  • Play as a member of a team;
  • Observe the referee’s rulings at all times;
  • Treat the referee with respect at all times;
  • If sentenced, abide by the sentence determined by the Judiciary Panel;
  • Acknowledge the responsibilities of the Team Contact and correspondingly show them due respect; and
  • Comply with any requests for assistance when asked by an official of Menai Hawks Football Club
  • Treat all participants in the game as you like to be treated. Do not bully, sledge or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
  • Cooperate with your coach, team mates, opponents and officials. Without them there would be no competition.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Loud constant arguing and swearing within your own team with other teams and with officials is not tolerated in this competition. Teams will be suspended if they continue to behave in this manner.
  • Constant questioning of every decision made by official will not be tolerated. If you are concerned with the referees conduct please inform roaming official or competition manager.
  • Players or team who are violent during a game will be expelled from the competition and the incident will be reported to police.

2. TEAM CONTACT/COACH CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Be at least 18 years old when the competition starts;
  • Be the representative of, and on behalf of, the team they register;
  • Be contactable by the relevant competition administrator to receive information and to relay information to the team.
  • Ensure that the competition administrator always have your current contact details;
  • Comply with the requirements of the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 and Menai Hawks Football Club requirements.
  • Ensure that all information concerning players is passed on to all players in the team, or their parents where the players are minors;
  • Ensure that information for the Committee is always forwarded through the Team Contact;
  • Only register eligible players in a team;
  • Only play registered players within the team;
  • Ensure that all players are as far as possible entitled to equal time on the field;
  • Ensure that all pre- and post-match procedures are carried out;
  • Make every reasonable attempt to ensure that supporters and spectators behave in an acceptable manner, or to contact the member on duty about any inability to deal with such situations; and
  • Not lend any player to another team; and Not field a team until all fees have been paid in full
  • Operate within the rules and spirit of football and teach your players to do the same.
  • Display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with football and this Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football 5 a side competition. This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and spectators. Encourage your players to do the same.
  • Show concern and caution toward sick and injured players. Follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured player is ready to recommence training or competition.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

3. SPECTATORS CODE OF CONDUCT

As a spectator, you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football games/competitions:

  • Do not enter the field of play unless permission is given to attend an injured player.
  • Respect the decisions of officials and teach young people to do the same.
  • Never ridicule or scold a young player for making a mistake. Positive comments are motivational.
  • Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by other spectators, coaches, officials or players.
  • Show respect for your team's opponents. Without them there would be no game.
  • Do not use violence, harassment or abuse in any form (that is, do not use foul language, sledge or harass players, coaches, officials or other spectators).
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

4. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS CODE OF CONDUCT

As a parent/guardian of a player/participant in any activity held by or under the auspices of Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others.
  • Remember that your child participates in sport for their own enjoyment, not yours.
  • Focus on your child's efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
  • Never ridicule or yell at your child and other children for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • Show appreciation for good performance and skilful plays by all players (including opposing players).
  • Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with or in the vicinity of persons under the age of 18 years, as your words and actions are an example.
  • Respect officials' decisions and teach children to do likewise.
  • Do not physically or verbally abuse or harass anyone associated with this competition (player, coach, referee and so on).
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Understand the repercussions if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of, this code of behaviour.

5. GENERAL – OFFICALS/REFEREES

As an - Official/Referee of Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football, you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held or sanctioned by Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football, in any role you hold within the Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football competition,:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others.
  • Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealing with others.
  • Be professional in, and accept responsibility for, your actions.
  • Make a commitment to providing quality service.
  • Be aware of, and maintain an uncompromising adhesion to Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football’s terms and conditions, rules, regulations and policies.
  • Operate within the rules of Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football
  • Do not use your involvement with the Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football, to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practices where these are inconsistent with those of the Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football
  • Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with persons under the age of 18 years, as your words and actions are an example.
  • Avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with persons under the age of 18 years, wherever possible.
  • Refrain from any form of harassment of others.
  • Refrain from any behaviour that may bring the Menai Hawks Super 5s Summer Football into disrepute.
  • Provide a safe environment for the conduct of the activity.
  • Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Understand the repercussions if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of, this code of behaviour
